The biggest night in fashion, the annual Met Gala, was held on May 7 in New York. Taking place on the first Monday of May, the event is always an opportunity for some of the biggest names in fashion and entertainment to show their creativity with their looks. With the theme of 'Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination', this year's event was no exception.
Here are some of the incredible looks that some of your faves wore on Monday evening.
Rihanna
We all knew Rihanna would blow us all away. Launching countless memes with her dress in 2015 - which was compared to an omelette - Rihanna's outfits are bound to be memorable - for better or worse. As one of the hosts alongside Amal Clooney, Anna Wintour, Donatella Versace, and Stephen and Christine Schwartzman, Rihanna made sure to bring her a-game.
Donning a Margiella designed outfit, the Bajan boss stunned in a glittering gown, heavily inspired by papal gowns. She has once again topped numerous best-dressed lists for this year's Met Gala. We wouldn't expect anything less!
Cardi B
For her first Met Gala, Cardi B came through dripping, decked out in a dazzling pearl-encrusted gown with bejewelled headdress by Jeremy Scott of Moschino, who joined her on the red carpet in a matching look. While some people drew unfavourable comparisons with a previous Beyoncé look - who was absent from this year's event - we think Cardi B slayed the theme and came though with that heavenly glow.
Solange
Known for her creative music videos, artistic endeavors, and left-of-field fashion sense, it's no surprise that Solange took an interesting twist on the Met Gala's theme. Donning all black, contrasting with the many white outfits of her fellow attendees, the stylish songstress donned a golden halo-like headpiece. For an extra twist, Solange wore a black durag underneath.
Nicki Minaj
Dressed in a stunning red Oscar De La Renta, the Queens rapper couldn't help but turn heads. Never one to miss an opportunity, Nicki announced that she was releasing new music, following on from the singles 'Chun-Li' and 'Barbie Tingz'. Her next album, 'Queen', will be released June 15.
