The Black Panther Soundtrack Tracklisting Is Finally Out

The Black Panther Soundtrack Tracklisting Is Finally Out

'Black Panther', possibly the most hyped movie event of the year, has a soundtrack coming out in a few days and we finally know who is on it.

Hot off last week's premiere, which served serious African royalty vibes, 'Black Panther' fever is at an all-time high.

After so much speculation, and a killer teaser track by Kendrick Lamar and SZA called 'All The Stars', the full track list is out and it's better than we could have imagined.

Sadly, the rumors of Beyoncé's presence were greatly exaggerated - she is not on it - but the Black Panther soundtrack album is a heady mix of hip-hop mainstays, up-and-comers, and curious collabs that we didn't see coming.

Here are some highlights:

Kendrick Lamar is EVERYWHERE

Fresh from winning four Grammys this year, and a powerful performance that was visually stunning as well as politically-charged, it's no surprised that Kendrick features heavily on the soundtrack for Marvel's first movie about a black superhero.

Kendrick has always been outspoken, weaving black pride and struggle into his lyrics and making them the very core of his concerts. During his most recent Grammy performance, comedian Dave Chapelle's voice could be heard saying poignant phrases such as "the only thing more frightening than watching a black man be honest in America, is watching an honest black man in America."

Kendrick lends his considerable talents, prodoucing the soundtrack, and popping up on five songs, including title track 'Black Panther' and 'All The Stars' with SZA.

Khalid making his mark

Teenage R&B sensation Khalid has seen his career go from strength to strength. After a sell-out tour last year and a top five debut album, the 'American Teen' managed to score five Grammy nominations this year, including 'Best New Artist' and 'Song of the Year'.

He might not have walked away with an award, but he shows no signs of slowing down. Appearing on 'The Ways' with Swae Lee, Khalid looks set to further cement his career and become a mainstay in the music scene.

Sadly, the song isn't available yet, but check out the stunning 'Location' to let you know what to look forward to.

Living for The Weeknd

A post shared by The Weeknd (@theweeknd) on

We definitely hoped that the Ethiopian-Canadian crooner would have a place on the 'Black Panther' soundtrack. The Weeknd regularly incorporates his Ethiopian heritage into his tracks, mixing in samples of Amharic singing on tracks such as 'The Hills' and 'Often', from the epic album 'Beauty Behind The Madness'.

The Toronto native is bringing his rhythmic vocals to this intriguing track. Singing "who's gon' save me from myself, when this life is all I know?" he manages to stay right on brand in this dark yet catchy 'Black Panther' song. Kendrick's bars effortlessly mix into 'Pray For Me', a definite highlight.
