Living Legend Oprah Is Getting Her Own Museum Exhibition

Sometimes people use the term 'legend' too freely. However, no-one can deny that Oprah Winfrey has earned the title. The celebrated media mogul was the first African American woman billionaire, and has inspired millions by her example and through her award-winning and ground-breaking talk show.

The Oprah Winfrey Show may have wrapped long ago, but it hasn't stopped the inspirational icon from continuing to bring hope and joy to our lives. After a show-stopping speech at Golden Globes, many hoped she would run for president. Oprah showcased her amazing power to uplift again at a commencement speech for USC graduates.

Throughout her career, Oprah has fought against the odds, and made history. Now she's going to be honoured with her own museum exhibition!

That's right, living legend Oprah is set to have a solo exhibition at the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) in Washington DC. The exhibition, called Watching Oprah: The Oprah Winfrey Show and American Culture will span from her early life, born in 1954 into poverty, through today, split into three sections 'America Shapes Oprah', 'The Oprah Winfrey Show', and 'Oprah Shapes America'.

On its website, the NMAAHC said: "[The exhibition] will consider the story and impact of Oprah Winfrey in her many roles: as host of a world-famous television talk show; as an actress, film producer, and media mogul; as a philanthropist and educator; and as a daughter of the civil rights generation whose phenomenal story of success illuminates the struggles and achievements of African American women throughout history."

The exhibition is open to the public from June 8. Find out more here! If anyone deserves an exhibition about her life and achievements it's Oprah!
