Hope for the African Community

Hope for the African Community

You will be delighted and proud to know that as of today 6,321 donations have been made to our African community!

We cannot express our thanks and gratitude enough, so we will continue to do so and continue to keep you aware of how your support is helping.

As you may be aware, Wings of Hope is a charitable organisation that has benefitted from the donations.

This rescue home helps unsupported pregnant teenage girls, victims of rape and child sexual abuse.

You can read more about the home in last week's blog post where one of the Directors shares it's journey and inspiration.

All the proceeds from our ongoing sale have been and will continue to be donated to more vulnerable families and individuals facing hardship in this time of crisis.

We want to continue showing you how together we are making a difference in Africa, so here are some letters from two of the girls currently living at Wings of Hope. You can read the first letter we received from Mercy here.

Here are two quotes from the beautiful inspirations Valary and Rose themselves...

This is what Valary had to say about the home "I thank God for them because I was able to overcome my past experiences through their help. I was able to go back to school again and accepted the child I got not forgetting to love her."

And here is Rose sharing her heart with us too "I wish to use this second chance well. I don’t want to misuse it so that I can achieve my goal in order to raise my baby and give him the best life he want."

You can read typed versions of the letters at the bottom of this blog post. But you have been warned to grab your box of tissues in advance as hope fills your heart; just as the home has filled theirs.

We are unbelievably happy that such a beautiful place has changed the lives of so many girls - and that we have played a part in helping them to continue to do so.

This wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for you, so thank you once again for your appreciated support and incredible style!

Please feel free to share this blog post so we can raise awareness and keep increasing that wonderful number of donations.

Valary

I am at Wings of Hope because when I got pregnant I thought my life was completely ruined. I thought that was the end of my future and the worst of it all is that I never imagined I would accept that pregnancy. How was I going to be a mother at the age of 17! Wings of Hope is like a home to me. The founders of it are like parents to me also. I thank God for them because I was able to overcome my past experiences through their help. I was able to go back to school again and accepted the child I got not forgetting to love her. I really believe that Wings of Hope is a place where my future is going to be brighter.

I got at Wings of Hope through a children’s officer. This was after the social worker, who worked in my former primary school, had explained what had happened to me.

I have been at Wings of Hope for three years now.

My long term goal is to be an accountant. I am also passionate about doing counselling and working as a news anchor. I wish to live a successful life, a life that would be of great help not only to me and my family but also to those who need it.

Rose

The reason for me being at Wings of Hope is because I want some one who could take care of me and my baby because I also wanted to go back to school to achieve my ultimate goal of being a doctor.

I wish to use this second chance well. I don’t want to misuse it so that I can achieve my goal in order to raise my baby and give him the best life he want.

I got at Wings of Hope through children officer who talked to me about Wings of Hope and I said I would like to go there.

The children officer connected me with the director of Wings of Hope and she accepted me and I got a chance of Wings of Hope rescue home.

I learn about Wings of Hope through children officer who told me about it and how they help pregnant teenage mother and I decided to join the organisation seeking for help.
