We all need a bit of inspiration sometimes. At Grass-fields, we're celebrating International Women's Month all March, we didn't think just a day would be enough to pay homage to all the wonder women who have inspired us.

Acclaimed poet and author Maya Angelou shared many pearls of wisdom in her 86 years. One quote that she is often remembered for is this one, about people's character.
How is it relevant?
Sometimes people may slip and show their true nature. Maya Angelou told us that this is who they are, and to believe that. People are most themselves in unguarded moments.
"You can't be hesitant about who you are" - Viola Davis
Academy Award and Emmy-winning actress Viola Davis knows a thing or two about fighting for representation and being true to herself. She called out Hollywood for calling her a 'black Meryl Streep' but not paying her in the same league.
How is it relevant?
Every day we may be challenged by circumstances to stray from who we are. Viola Davis says it's important to be true to yourself and hold your head high, steadfast in your beliefs and identity.
"It's only up from here, no downward spiral" - Rihanna
Ah, RiRi. The leading unapologetic musician and icon, Rihanna deserves a place on this list. Okay, so the quote may be lyrics from her song 'Cheers', but it sums up her views of the future.
How is it relevant?
Rihanna is someone who seems to give zero stuffs. The example we can learn here is that even in our darkest days, the future may be bright. RiRi is preaching optimism, and we are listening!

Fabulous former FLOTUS and all-round inspiration Michelle Obama is well aware of what it takes to succeed against the odds. Rising from a childhood in poverty in Chicago's Southside, to graduating from two Ivy League colleges and a career as a lawyer. Since leaving the White House, Michelle has been an advocate for education.
How is it relevant?
Michelle's example may be inspiration and a reminder that where you're from does not always necessarily determine where you're going. We can take comfort in the fact that sometimes, hard work and perseverance can get you to what you want, in spite of the odds.
"Whatever you're going through in your life, don't ever give up" - Mariah Carey
Love her or hate her, 'hot tea'-requesting songstress Mariah Carey is an inspiration to many. With her successful singing career and always unapologetic attitude, the diva everyone loves to hate has been an example to those who wish to plot their own path, and never say sorry for doing things their own way.
How is it relevant?
When you're shooting for your own goals, you don't always get it in. It's important to take that rebound, and keep shooting until you score. Mariah is saying that your dreams, if they are worth it, should always be fought for.
