Union has been active since the 90's, and starred in a number of films and TV shows, earning an NAACP Image Award in the process. She married Dwyane Wade in 2014, and has continued to work, as she always has. Fans rushed to defend her and called out the radio station for erasing her.
Worse they relegated her to a NON ENTITY.

his "NO NAME" --> WIFE
wow, not like she doesnt have her own TV SHOW!
Or isnt a Best Selling Author.
"Majorly accomplished actress and model, Gabrielle Union donates $200,000 to gun control rally" sounds way better to me anyway

Good for you @itsgabrielleu The habit of subsuming successful women into their similarly successful husband's identity repeatedly amazes me. https://t.co/S1xvvPSDHu

Some people pointed out that they didn't know who Miami Heat shooting guard Wade was, as not everyone follows sports.
No offense to @DwyaneWade or to any sports fans but not every person follows sports and I honestly have no clue what team Dwyane Wade is on. But I do know who @itsgabrielleu is and I've watched several movies she's starred in (past, present and future roles). But best of luck! 😚

@itsgabrielleu all respect to hubby but I'm in the UK and have no idea who he is. You're the star baby. How could they get that so wrong?! https://t.co/kqUmT5oRc0

The station eventually apologised, and put up a different tweet

You're right. We have apologized, and will have a word with our writer.

Much better!
Was it right to call them out, or were people overreacting?
