When it comes to choosing hair extensions, you just can’t go wrong with Afro curly, kinky, weave. Kinky weaves never go out of fashion, especially because they mimic your natural afro curly hair texture. And if you are after a protective hairstyle that is easy to maintain and style, kinky curly afro hair, hair extensions are a great choice.
Maintaining your kinky curly hair extensions is paramount if you want to keep it looking good for longer. If your weave is losing its curls and has a dull look to it, here are some easy steps to maintain them and bring them back to illustrious life.
Detangling Kinky Afro Curly Extension
Wet hair thoroughly and use your fingers to gently detangle hair while soaking wet. Never attempt to detangle the hair when it is dry as this will cause breakage.
If you must use a brush to detangle, choose a wide-tooth comb for detangling the kinky, curly hair. Always start detangling from the ends to root. Avoid using a paddle or bristle brush.

Washing & Drying Kinky Afro Curly Extension
A good rule to follow when it comes to caring for your kinky, curly weave hair is the less you wet/wash it, the better. Use a moisture rich conditioner and distribute conditioner through hair in a downward motion using fingers. Then using your fingers, brush conditioner through your hair.
Air drying must always be your number one option, when possible. If you must use heat, use it infrequently. Do not forget to use a heat protectant, along with a diffuser attachment with a hair dryer on warm heat - too much heat may loosen the curl pattern. Never aim the nozzle directly on the hair, as it can cause shedding. The less the heat, the longer your hairstyle will last.

Styling Hair & Conditioning Kinky Afro Curly Extensions
The kinky, curly hair is easy to style in its natural curl, however, try to cut back on heavy hair sprays and other hair products to avoid product build up on the extensions. This will also mean fewer washes. Spray with a mixture of water and a light conditioner in a spray bottle when styling.
To style use a curl definer or lotion and brush through hair with wide-tooth comb brush.
Natural products like Raw Shea Butter, Argan Oil and Coconut Oil keeps the hair hydrated and moisturized, however, less is more. Avoid alcohol based products that dry out your hair. A deep condition, once a week, is recommended.
