Over a month since its release, Black Panther is still on top. The ground-breaking Marvel masterpiece and all-round cultural behemoth has spent five weeks atop the weekend box office in the US, and has smashed records worldwide.
The Wakandan wonder has grossed almost $1.2bn worldwide, made $600m in the US, and has officially become the highest grossing movie in history in South Africa, taking in 77.6m rand ($6.5m), since its release.

Already the 7th grossing movie of all-time in the US, Black Panther is only around $18m away from passing 'The Avengers' to become the highest grossing super hero movie in history!
Black Panther is clearly incredible popular, and is even part of a cultural movement. Celebrities dressed in exquisite African outfits for the premiere, and a great many of our customers rocked Grass-fields to see the movie.
The movie's significance not only encouraged more people to get in touch with other cultures, but through #WakandaTheVote, encouraged people to get involved, by allowing them to register to vote at movie showings!
Its impact shows no signs of stopping, with the trailers for the upcoming Marvel superhero flick 'Avengers: Infinity War' showcasing the boss Wakandan warrior women, the Dora Milaje. The fighting force stand alongside T'Challa, the Black Panther himself, and other members of the Avengers.
The next Avengers movie will have a battle scene set in Wakanda, so expect to see much more of T'Challa and the Wakandans! With a spin-off comic book for the Dora Milaje too - featuring Spider-Man - coming soon, it looks like the surprising standouts from Black Panther are going to get attention in their own right. Could it lead to a movie or TV series - here's to hoping!
What do you think? Are you going to watch the new Avengers movie when it comes out? Should the Dora Milaje get their own spin-off?
