Are We Seeing A Fenty Backlash?

Are We Seeing A Fenty Backlash?

For a long time, it seemed like Rihanna could do no wrong. But now, the Bajan singer turned beauty mogul may have a backlash on her hands. Could that Rihanna reign finally be stopping?

The trailblazing Fenty Beauty won over millions of fans for its authentic diversity and commitment to providing cosmetics for a wide range of women. With its diverse range of models and snappy social media presence - almost seeming like an extension of Rihanna's personality - Fenty Beauty was on top.

Now it seems some would-be fans might be turned against the brand.

It all started with Fenty Body Lava and the not-so-inclusive price.

But despite a number of more reasonably-priced alternatives, the Rihanna connection holds a certain cachet.

So a number of people decided to buy the luminizer, priced at $59 a bottle, or $135 as part of the 'Beach, Please' summer 'essentials' pack.

Not everyone was impressed with the latest Fenty offering. In a recent video, superstar beauty blogger Jackie Aina admitted that she had heard "mixed reviews" about some of the latest Fenty Beauty products.

"This looks more like a dry oil with glitter in it, more than it does a body illuminizer," Jackie said. She added that it was 'pretty oily' and seemed to heat up as it was blended out. "The more I add, the more stickiness I feel," the YouTuber added.

Many people took to Twitter to voice their opinions of the product.

A lot of people complained that it was sticky. Others also said it made them look sweaty.

One person had a lot to say about the product, and questioned Fenty Beauty altogether.

Wow.

What do you think? Has Fenty Beauty gone too far this time? Wish Rihanna would make some music again?
