10 Gorgeous Black Owned Beauty Brands

If you've been following us on Instagram, you'll be aware of the efforts we've made to highlight other black owned brands and entrepreneurs over the past couple of weeks.

The acknowledgement and recognition of the brilliance they have to bring to the table has been overlooked for far too long.

So, we're making it our mission to help and highlight other black owned businesses to show the world what gifts they have to offer.

We originally posted on Instagram asking people to tag black owned businesses. The response we had was incredible and it was so beautiful to see the amount of support that was being shared.

You can see the original post here (and it's never too late to tag!).

This week, we're kicking off with ten black owned beauty brands that we love and know you will too.

Links to their websites & Instagram profiles can be found throughout the post via headings and images, so be sure to show your support with a follow and a few likes - and if you're in love with what you see, follow on through to their website.

So without further ado, in no particular order, here are ten gorgeous black owned beauty brands.

• Moisturised, healthy curls .. just how we like them 😍• . If you are wanting to get more moisture into your hair strands - water is the best way! . Water based products work to some degree (always check ingredients) however nothing beats straight-forward hydration the good old fashioned way. 💦 . Don’t shy away from water and be sure to regularly put water in your hair even it’s in a protective style. . For example if you have cornrows under a glueless wig, it’s very easy to take off the wig and wash your hair. If you want to keep the cornrows neat then use a shampoo bar to run along the rows and be gentle when rubbing your scalp. . Alternatively, you can just run the water on your braids then use a leave-in conditioner and a natural oil to seal in the moisture. 🖤 . . . Sidebar do you write it as ‘cornrow’, ‘cainrow’ or ‘canerow’? 😅 Let us know your version below 👇🏾

Hey sis,⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ How are you? Good? Hopeful? Exhausted? Drained? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Yea, me too.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Today, I'm not writing to you as the owner of KinkyCurlyYaki, on behalf of the "brand".⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I'm writing to you as a black woman, mother and entrepreneur, living in 2020.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you follow me on insta (@itsviviankaye) then you already know. If not, you can catch me there.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But the bottom line is...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I'm tired. You're tired. We're all tired of this shit. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So I'm going to leave you with just one message and then we'll get back to our regular programming (whatever that means).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I stand with you. I see you. I feel you. But we have to protect our energy. Do what you need to do for you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Stay strong, stay safe.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✊🏿♥️ Vivian
