AFRICAN PRINT OF THE DAY WITH CHRISTELLE: THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT

AFRICAN PRINT OF THE DAY WITH CHRISTELLE: THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT

I don't know about you, but I was absolutely not prepared for the cold weather this week!

We've been busy preparing our latest launch of t-shirts and skirts in preparation for International Women's Day, and the collection so hot (unlike this weather!). Through the snow and the ice, and the imminent threat of more to come, we're looking forward to Spring, and celebrating the fact that we're getting nearer with every day!

Today I'm wearing the Mora Midi Skirt, and you know how much I love a peplum style skirt!

I just love the colours and patterns of this collection. Its the breath of fresh air that we need in this weather; and with a pair of ankle boots, a polo-necked jumper and a coat, its the perfect winter warmer.

We've been so inspired by some of the incredible women that have collaborated with us for International Women's Day. It's so easy to get lost in the side-lines in the world - they've always said 'it's a mans world'; but all I have to do is look at myself, the women that have spoken out... and I realise - the world is what you make it!

Growing up in a large household in Cameroon, things were difficult, but rather than submitting myself to these difficulties, I pushed through them and made my life a success - but so many women won't have these opportunities. There are millions of factors that effect us all - men and women alike - just watch the inspirational Maxine Griffiths interview. Its an emotional journey full of laughter and tears, and its women like this that continue to inspire us and our collections.

One thing that has always helped me through tough times, was my love of my culture and fashion. People find solace in so many different things; we like to make life brighter and breathe colour into wardrobes. With colour, comes the energy of the African culture - and thats something that can't be brought or taught.

So with International Womens Day just around the corner (keep an eye on the website to see the other inspirational women), I want to dedicate this post to all of the women who are going through, have gone through, and who will go through, any issues.

The future is brighter together, and moving forward together, we are unstoppable!
