African print of the day with Christelle - Brightness in grey London

We are back with my usual style diary and today I'm adding a splash of colour with my African print yellow Dashiki Boom Dress. As the weather becomes decidedly more dull - like it is today - it's the perfect way to add a much-needed burst of brightness.

Let me show you the brightness in grey London with the yellow African print Dashiki Boom Dress.

I think that is the real beauty of African print clothing - no matter what the weather it can always be counted on to add some vibrancy to our world. I feel far too many people match palettes with the weather, donning blacks and greys to echo the dark surroundings. With its bold colours, cinched-in waist and high neckline, the Dashiki cuts a defying flattering figure against the dark sky.

This dress has an unusual feature that I just love. The Dashiki comes with two side-pockets, a neat feature that I think really sets the dress apart. These pockets just scream versatility, making the Dashiki suitable for any occasion.

Whether you're going to a wedding, having lunch with friends or even at work, the Dashiki boom dress is prepared.

It is still quite chilly outside - it is October after all - so I've paired this bold, modern African print with a must-have this time of year - my long black coat from Bimba Y Lola. My earrings - one of my favourite pairs - are also from Bimba Y Lola. Completing my look today are a simple yet stylish bag from Zara complimented with a pair of shoes from the same brand.

I love to make the most of the versatility of African print, mixing it up with Western high street staples. That is the beauty of African fashion, it fits effortlessly with items from all over. The one thing to remember is not to over-accessorise or mix too many patterns.

You want the vibrancy and pattern of your African print fashions to be the star of the show, so try to keep other colours more muted, as per my outfit. By pairing the Dashiki Boom dress with a black coat and bag, it looks brighter than ever, just what we all need on a dull Autumn day.

How are you brightening up your look this Autumn? Let us know in the comments below.

I hope you all have a positive and sunny week, despite the cloudy skies!

Love Christelle xxx

Amazing blog! Do you have any suggestions for aspiring writers?
I’m planning to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything.

Would you advise starting with a free platform like Wordpress
or go for a paid option? There are so many
options out there that I’m totally confused ..

    Any ideas? Thanks!
